where is the odometer information stored in a hyundai accent 04

Asked by Ivan Mar 24, 2013 at 12:51 PM about the 2004 Hyundai Accent GL 2-Door Hatchback FWD

I want to replace my speedometer cluster on my hyundai accent 04 to one that includes a tach. If i do
replace it will the mileage from the original cluster transfer over to the new one or will i have to program
the new one to have the correct mileage. if so how can i program the new one.

Not sure about your Hyundai but other makes have to have the gauges updated by the dealer. If citizens could program in mileage changes, every car would have ultra low mileage...

Not to mention that it really is against federal law to tamper with the speedometer in your car, or in other words misrepresent the milage on your vehicle
