Replace catalytic converter or weld it back together?

Catalytic converter rusted through at the south
end. Converter hanging by O2 sensor wiring.

You didn't post a photo. So have a muffler shop take a look at it and see if it is repairable. From the sounds of it, you might be replacing it.
