Jack up your car so you can access the starter. Have someone get in the car and hold the key to the ON position like they are trying to start it. While they are holding the key all the way forward, take a hammer and pound on the starter. If your car suddenly begins to start, that means your starter is bad and you need a new one. Try this first. Let us know what happens.
