hyundia engine went, dealer putting in re manufactured engine, is this common?

Engine went in my 2015 Hyundai Elantra. Dealer wants to put in a re
manufactured engine. He says thats what all dealers do when a engine goes. Is
he telling the truth? and is it worth getting a remanufactured engine?

If the engine is rebuilt properly it is good as new. Check the warranty coverage before you buy it. You should also compare the installed price to what the car is worth.
