why is Gurus' finance monthly payments different from dealers financing payments

Asked by Constance Sep 21, 2021 at 05:52 PM about the 2012 Hyundai Accent GLS 4-Door Hatchback FWD

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I used gurus' finance calculator to base my monthly finance payments
affordable to my budget, but when I actually picked a vehicle and contacted
the dealership the calculated mo. payment was more than double the
amount???!!! And it was not a straight finance, but a buy to lease over less
months, making the monthly payments totally out of my reach. I am a senior
living on a fixed income, this was really disappointing...this is not the only
disappointment with Gurus vs dealerships!!!

A calculator is just that, a calculator. The calculator has a lot of assumptions built in and your situation obviously is not the same. You must apply for a loan to find out what you will actually pay.

Too many variables involved. Terms, loan type, amount, down payment, etc.all have an impact and must be identical for a good comparison. Look at the details of both estimates and you will identify the cause of the difference.
