How many hours to install rack pinion on Honda passport 98?

Why do you ask? did someone quote you a high price? just get a second opinion-

I'm asking because I got a ridiculously high estimate that didn't list cost for labor per hour nor amount of hours for job. I ALREADY have the part. Go to another mechanic? Been trying to fix car 4X times. Finding a mechanic that's not a psychopath ,drunk or honest is like trying to find a unicorn

So I I didn't get an answer just another question? I tried to Google hours can't find. This appears to be a waste of time too

It took my weekend mechanic 4 weeks to replace that part. Come to find out the motor is sitting on the part. It has to be raised. Go figure

2 hours at most! i am going to do my own. Take off bash plate (4 bolts) once that is out of the way take off booster canister(right by oil filter) jack truck up on each side put floor jacks under frame rite behind front tires. Take off front tires. Then take tie rod ends off(each side)two bolt on each bracket that hold the rack in are visible and fairly easy to remove. The hydraulic lines are by oil filter and easy to get to along with steering column bolts. Then reassemble same way it comes off. Hope this helps.
