Passport idles at abt 2500 rpm on starting and 1100 rpm when in gear

Asked by putzo63 Aug 13, 2011 at 01:50 PM about the 1998 Honda Passport 4 Dr EX 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have replaced idle air control valve, evap purge control solenoid, checked for vacuum leaks and cleaned carbon build up from throttle body.  Ran ok for about a week and is idling high again.  What next?

Mine does the same thing. Did you ever figure out what was wrong?

mine is also doing this had computer replaced iac replaced good for a week then back to high idle and thoughts
