your motor actually calls for a 5w-30 oil. i personally use royal purple. but that is because it keeps your engine lubricated very well. and i like to beat on my engines. just use almost any synthetic oil that is 5w-30 should be good

lighter viscosity oil will help inprove mpg, but the down side of lighter viscosity can be burn by older engine as the clearance in the engine is more the less viscosity will be easier going into the combustion chamber.

Try using the lightest viscosity your engine can handle, starting with 0-30, irrespective of mileage. If you are using the recommended 5-30 and losing oil, do not use 0-30, otherwise, 0-30 will give you the most MPG, easiest starts even on very cold days and the engine will last forever and stay clean. If you start losing oil with 0-30(must keep checking at 100, 200, 500 and 1000 miles), start adding whatever lowest viscosity stops leakage and stick to it. At oil change, flush and drain thoroughly and use the best oil filter you can find.
