Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi I have a question about one problem, After diagnostic when trying to buy used car there are codes P0171 and P0174 no engine light on. When test driving everything seems fine. No problem with acceleration or iddle or misfiring. What should I consider before buying this car.

Both codes are for engine running lean 171 to bank 1, 174 to bank 2. From my experience (depending on the heads and intake). It sounds like the intake is sucking air, may be warped, the engine may have gotten hot any number of reasons. The other possibility would be a weak injector pump. With reduced fuel pressure this could happen.

Most likely was using the 87 octane gas just start using the 93 or 94 octane gas running to lean because of low octane.
