Starting Issues

Asked by Dlamblew Jun 27, 2017 at 08:52 PM about the 1999 Honda Civic DX Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I drive a 1999 Honda Civic DX with about 190k
miles on the engine. I am it's 3rd owner. Any who, I
would like input on as to why when I turn my car
over first thing in the morning or after it's been
sitting, it starts right up. However, when I let it run
and idle till operating temp or not even that and I
turn it off it will not start again without almost
dying. It used to not have this problem as bad
months ago but now it's pretty constant. I know I'll
be giving grief for waiting so long but being a
college student makes having a mechanic work on
your car very pricey. Any who, can anyone give me
a clue as to why this is so I can get the parts I need
to fix that issue?

It could be the fuel pump or the fuel pump relay or even more simple the gas cap could be faulty.
