Instrument panel

Asked by AlexaB Apr 03, 2012 at 04:25 PM about the 2000 Honda Civic LX

Question type: General

I just bought a 2000 Honda Civic but I don't have an owners manual. I don't know much about cars. Can
someone identify all of the lights and switches on the dashboard for me? Especially the ones on the bottom
of the instrument panel.

Hi, Thanks for the help. It really helped. There is still one thing that I'm curious about. I've circled it in red? Do you know what this is? Thanks, AlexaB

hi alexa! i believe that is either the brightness control (you can brighten or dim the lights on your dashboard) or the mechanic's reset button (when a check light turns on, a mechanic will reset it once he/she fixes the problem). i found a pdf owner's manual for a 2001, there should not be too many differences with the 2000, so maybe it will be a bit helpful: http://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/assets/OWNERLINK/model/own_man/2001HondaCivic.pdf

Hi, Maria, Yep, it's the maintenance reset button. Thanks so much for your help. No Longer Clueless AlexaB
