Hard start

Hi I have 2001 Ford Ranger 4.0 ranger has a hard start have to pump it twice
then it starts but rough after a minute or two it smooths out brand new fuel
pump any suggestions

If you have not done a tuneup recently you should install new spark plugs. I would use a fuel system cleaner and clean the throttle body and MAF.
