daytime running lights not working

Asked by MKT_321 Nov 10, 2012 at 11:40 PM about the 2001 Ford Taurus SEL

Question type: General

The daytime running lights (DRL) on my Taurus are not working. I have to manually turn on the lights. Although that isn't a big deal if there is a quick fix for it I would like to know. Thanking you in advance.

Have you checked the DTRL fuse? It is located in the fuse box under the hood. If its not the fuse try removing the connection to the battery for 30 min and reconnecting them. The DTRL have a modual that could be acting up and need to be reset, or it could be bad and need replacement.

Will the fuse be labeled DTRL or something else? In the owner's manual I looked for a fuse labeled DRTL and could find nothing. Thank you.
