2003 Element shakes when accelerating 45-50 mph

Asked by GuruD4743C Jul 31, 2023 at 05:37 PM about the 2003 Honda Element EX AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This seems to be a common problem, but I have not found an answer yet.  My
car shakes/shimmies from side to side when accelerating between 45 and 50
mph, and this is the only time this happens.  It stops when I reach 50. It does
not happen when I am traveling 45-50 and not accelerating-- just when
accelerating.  Tires are new.   Any ideas?

Things to look at: engine and transmission mounts, CV axles for worn parts, loose attaching bolts, worn suspension and steering components.
