replacing front seats - airbags

Asked by 1372MBSP May 05, 2017 at 04:07 PM about the 2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 144 WB Crew Van

Question type: Car Customization

Hi, I have a 2016 Mercedes sprinter 2500.  It has airbags built into the front
seats, but I want to replace the factory seats with more comfortable seats
that don't have airbags.  If I unplug the airbag sensor from the factory seats,
the airbag light goes on and I've been told this means all of the airbags are
off line until the wire is plugged back in and the system reset.  Is this
correct?  I'd like to replace the seats but don't want all of the airbags off line.
Thank you.
Tony
