I hit a couple pot holes recently, just noticed when I press the brake pedal I hear a sound in front driver side that sounds like a semi when they air brake, a pounding. Brakes are working fine, but what would make that sound ?

Could be the ABS kicking in, when it shouldn't. I'm in agreement with beatupchevy, you probably messed up a sensor, but you won't know until a pro inspects the brakes. I would take it straight to a shop, and not drive it in traffic until then.
