2014 VW Jetta - horn alarm goes off randomly

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2014 VW Jetta. Has front end damage and the door doesn't line up properly
but will shut and will remotely lock. I believe the alarm sensors in the damaged
door are telling the alarm to activate, which to the dismay of my neighbors is
randomly at different times of the day, sometimes in the early morning hours. It
doesn't matter if the car is locked or unlocked. I removed the fuse from the
fuse panel inside vehicle - now the horn won't work when pressing on the
middle of the steering wheel. However the horn alarm still goes off randomly!
UGH! I'm thinking of removing the electrical connectors from each horn,
hoping I can find the horns. Anyone have a better suggestion? Car isn't being
used and sits in my driveway until I can sell it. Thanks in advance

Without accessing the damage, it will be hard to tell, maybe a wiring issue, sensor issue or alignment like you said. Selling a damaged car, you will take a huge hit on price. Maybe better to repair and then sell? I'd disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery terminal, tuck it away and call it a day, if it is just sitting in the driveway and you can lock the car manually and open it with the metal key.
