Does it constantly shudder after driving a couple miles or is it only at low speeds? If it shudders constantly, does it change with how quickly you press on the gas?

Yes only at low speeds after the car is warmed . shutters starts at 20 mph and clears up totally after 30 mph and above

if it's a 4-wd gasoline, the heat of the catalyc converters dry out the grease of the cv-joint of the drveshaft going to the rear. As long it isn't rattling You could try to clean it en grease it with molybdene-grease. Volvo doesn't sell these cv-joints speraratly but only as a complete drive-shaft. Good luck.
