2001 Ford Ranger XLT randomly acts like out of gas and dies... HELP

Okay so my 2001 Ford Ranger XLT has an issue
where all the sudden it just acts like it's running out
of gas and dies if I leave it sit for a little bit if it'll
start again maybe... I'm just an old dumb girl but I
have replaced the fuel filter replace the relays
make sure it had enough gas in it and about 14
million other things. I've read a thousand things
that have all kinds of initials and letters of parts to
replace I have no idea what any of that is. I'm doing
my best trying to fix this thing on my own but just
not having any luck. Does anybody have any
suggestions I would surely appreciate it.

Does it have to sit for at least say 15 minutes or so? IF SO, Its very likely the distribiutor ignition module-if its the type that's mounted directly on the distributor. That type of FORD ignition module is notorious for failing FROM HEAT and most commonly acts just that way before failing completely. Try this. Get a bag of ice, and a hair dryer. Start the engine at home and let it run until its warmed up. Once its warm and still running, point the hair dryer at the ignition module and run it on high for a few minutes and if the module is failing FROM HEAT it will kill the engine after a while. IF THAT HAPPENS try to restart the engine. IF IT DOES NOT RESTART apply the bag of ice to the ignition module and after a couple miinutes the engine should start. You can also use a garden hose and run a slow stream of water over the ignition module.
