Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Should a 2016 VW Sportswagen require oil at 3400 miles?
How can a car bought at the end of January 2016 require new brakes with
3400 miles on it?

Your car uses a computer program to calculate when the oil needs to be changed. It bases its recommendation on how you drive. I would go ahead and change the oil as it just does not cost that much. As far as your brakes go 3400 miles is very, very short and you should not need to replace them unless you ride the brakes all the time. Since the car is under warranty I would have your dealer check it out for problems.
