Battery and Starter are fine, yet no start no crank?

Asked by tyler May 12, 2021 at 01:28 PM about the 2016 Mazda MAZDA3 i Grand Touring Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car was starting prior to replacing my transmission.  After doing so, the
car wouldn't start and I had blown a starter fuse.  Tested the starter and
made sure the battery was good and both are in perfect working condition.
Replaced the fuse and blew the fuse AGAIN after a couple attempts and
getting the car to crank.  The only noise that you hear is a single click from
the starter and nothing else.  I took the serpentine belt off to see if the AC
compressor was preventing the starter from turning, but I still couldn't get the
car to start.  I will check to see if I can't turn my crankshaft and make sure
my engine isn't seized, but what are some other options if I am sure that my
connections to and from the battery and starter are correct?

if you blew a fuse, you have a short or pinched wire somewhere. so you know what fuse is blowing, retrace the wiring on that circuit to find the culprit.
