Battery problem 2016 Subaru

Asked by MartinR2016 Oct 12, 2019 at 06:08 PM about the 2016 Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My son had same problem with 2016 Outback
Wagon. Took it to dealer 3 times over 3 or 4
months.  It’s not the battery!  He finally gave up on
the dealership and took the car to a corner battery
store.  They tested starter and found it was drawing
490amps while cranking the starter. That’s the
problem.  It should draw no more than 200 amps
max, and mostly much less than that.  This is killing
the battery on all these Subaru’s.  Why doesn’t
Subaru put this out there??

Good to know your experience. I love my Outback, so if I have any further problems, this post tells me things I can look for.
