I have a Lance keeps trying to overheat even though I change the thermostat

I have a 2006 Chevy Avalanche LT 2WD  
change the thermostat out and put new
coolant in it but it still trying to overheat could
it be a faulty thermostat or do I need to
change the housing I did not change the
housing

Check if the electric fan come on should com on 180 to 220 also cool and temp semsormay be bad

I have been fighting an overheating problem for months.....spent $1400 on repair after repair....turns out is was a $10 radiator cap (to the overflow). All good now!!! Geesh! I coulda had new tires! Now I still need those! Grrrr

This is me right now. I have spent $1400 and still not fixed. Replaced thermostat and fan clutch, flushed and checked for blockage. How did you know it was the radiator cap?
