Is It Time For A New Battery?

Asked by Guru1K21G Apr 15, 2020 at 10:46 PM about the 2016 Ford Fiesta SE Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What's the average lifespan of a 2016 Ford Fiesta battery? My car sat in my
garage for 2 days and the battery was dead. Nothing was left on(lights,
wipers.etc).Time for a new battery? Thanks

G A, thanks for the input. I usually drive it every day but I remember this happened once before about a year ago. I was looking up parasitic drain but I don't think that was the problem.

I had it tested and it was fully charged.I'm assuming it's time for a new one, I'm still wondering why it wouldn't be dead after sitting overnight, only after sitting 2 days. That's why I looked up parasitic drain. Never heard of this before.

G A, thanks for the info and your knowledge.I'll get a new battery. Debating whether to take it to the Ford dealership or do it myself. My worry is I don't want to mess up any computer stuff on the car. Back in the day things were a lot easier, I would do all maintenance myself. What would you suggest? Thanks, John

I have an Auto Zone nearby, I'll try getting there over the weekend. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again.
