My tire is bent inward from the top(front driver side)

Asked by SarahDeLeon89 Aug 30, 2014 at 03:37 PM about the 2001 Ford Expedition XLT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Yesterday when I was taking my husband to work we were driving down the road and all of a sudden there were some strange noises and the car was acting funny. I thought it was my breaks because when I pressed them they went further down then normal. But when we came to a stop he looked out and said it looked like the tire was about to fall off. Like the tire was bent inward from the top.(just the driver side front). I been looking in to in and alot of people have been saying that they hit a pot hole or curb and so forth.. and we do have alot of pot hole on our road but I do not remember hitting one prior to this happening. I really would like to know what it could be possibly and an estimate to fix such a thing. And possible where I could go to fix it. :( I am in the Fort Worth, TX area.

As for the brakes, check out the master cylinder to see if you are low on brake fluid. It's possible that you have a leaking brake line.

upper or lower ball joints could be the problem or a bent control arm (A frame ) Could also be the inner A frame bushings ...

If the actual metal wheel is intact and the inner section is not separated then the wheel is OK. Since you probably have alloy wheels it is doubtful that it is the wheel. I would be looking at ALL the suspension components on that wheel. Something has either broke or worn out.
