The dealership messed up my car?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I dropped my car off back in June. It needed the
evaporator casing replaced. I had no lights on and
no other issues.  They couldn't get the part in for
two months. Eventually they did a temporary fix
while waiting on the part to come in. It didn't come
in till last week. Again, car was working properly
and no lights or other issues. So I dropped my car
off last week . They found small roaches in the
dashboard and called to ask if they could bomb it. I
said Yes. They called said my car was ready for
pickup. I went and picked it up and almost died as
soon as I pulled onto the feder. The car wouldn't go
past 25 miles an hour. I immediatly took it back.
They told me their was two lights on that weren't
on when I dropped it off. The abs light and the
airbag light and they apologized and told me they
would fix it. It also said brake lamp bulb fault and
cruise control no longer worked and it said no hill
assist and these were the different warnings that
popped up as well. So I left it there and they gave
me a free loaner. They called me today and told me
it was ready again. I go to pick it up and the
acceleration was fixed. They said it had gone in to
safety mode and wasnt really the acceleration and
replaced a part. Started driving and all the lights
came back on , cruise control didnt work and
somebody had broken one of my ac vents to
peices. It also said engine fault service now.  They
had fixed one thing but not the other. The manager
test drove it a couple times and tried to tell me it
was ok. On the third time I forced him to drive it
back out because I wasn't lying he finally realized I
was telling the truth. He said it was the brake
switch and that they couldn't possibly have broken
it cause they weren't working down there. However
they did have to take the dash off twice and they
bug bombed.  He fixed it for free only i think
because I was incredibly persistent about the fact
that none of those lights were on and I wanted my
car back in the same condition I left especially
after spending 4000 dollars. So all thats done.
However now as soon as I got home, i noticedmy
center console screen is burning hot to the touch
and the plastic around the steering wheel isn't
connected properly anymore and I have a broken
AC vent.  Can anybody give me an opinion on what
could have happened to my Car? Could taking the
dash off have caused most of these things? Could
the bug bombing have? Honest opinions. None of
the acceleration problems or lights were on when I
dropped it off . What could happened to make my
center screen so hot all of a sudden? I spent 4000
dollars on all of this and my car had been working
perfect since they did the temporary fix. No issues
at all . I left it there for a week and all of this
happened.

Did you buy this car used? The reason I ask is that a lot of electrical issue to be having. It might be a flood car if you did buy it used.

Yes, but I've had this car for years. I only took it in for repair. And it didn't have any electrical issues when I dropped it off. There was originally an air conditioning problem bsck in June and the casing to my evaporator needed to be replaced but they didnt get the part in till last week and had done a temporary repair that had fixed the problem and hadn't stopped working yet. They replaced 2 parts in the two times I had to bring my car back within 5 mins for free after the one that it was actually there for but never admitted fault. The brake switch and another that fixed the acceleration issue. The two parts fixed the issues that I noticed immediatly after picking up my car but now as soon as I had pulled into my driveway I noticed the screen is super hot and the steering plastic isn't on properly. So it seems like something happened that caused all that exceot the plastic and air vent which is just carelessness im sure. 3 separate issues that weren't wrong with my car when I dropped it off happened in the week I left it with them. 2 separate parts had to be replaced to fix two different issues and there's still 1 more I found. Could bug bombing have damaged the electrical system and broke all three things? Or could the dash not be connected properly or something like that? Im going to have to take my car back again and im trying to be prepared on what could have happened before I go this time.

It seems the dealership can not figure it out and likes taking your money. I would find a local garage that gets decent reviews and is ASE certified to take a look at the car. They might be able to figure it out. Tell them what you told us.

If they replaced the evaporator they may have damaged wiring in the dash. They would be liable. 4 grand to replace an evaporator is highway robbery.
