Wait until you're out.... cars are meant to be driven.

DO NOT purchase a car from a buy here/ pay here dealer. They are without a doubt the worst places to purchase an automobile.

If you really want a good used car, then look at purchasing a late model lease return from a "New Car Dealership"... they have the best crop of used cars, sometimes you can find a really nice CPO car, I recommend this highly, and "new car dealerships have a stellar reputation to protect.... they sell new cars to people all the time", The very last thing they can afford or want is to have people trash their business. Finally, the whole concept of buy here, pay here is insidious. They want you to come back to their location once a month and hand them cash or check. This is a ridiculous waste of time, suppose you want to move to another area. If you have good credit, most financial institutions will loan you money for a used car from 2 to 4 percent.

If your under a chapter 13 you legally cannot buy a car unless you can get a waiver from your trustee. If you do and they find out about it they can dismiss your chapter 13 and then your responsible for everything left over and other proceedings can go ahead.
