Why does computer have to be reset daily?

After driving car approx 10 mins, temp gauge in car goes to C and doesn't register any temp. AC stops working at the same time. Replaced both temp sensors and everything worked for a day. Same thing happened. Removed negative battery cable and reinstalled and everything worked the rest of day, but this is an everyday occurrence. Seems I have to reset computer everyday. Why and how can this be remedied? The car is not overheating.

This sounds like a problem with the wiring going to the coolant temperature sensor. Is your check engine light or service engine soon light on? If so I bet there's a trouble code for the coolant temperature sensor in the computer (PCM). If the coolant temperature sensor is unplugged or disconnected the temperature gauge will stay on C, the air conditioning will be disabled, and the radiator cooling fans will run on high speed. As a safety precaution the PCM assumes the engine is overheating if it is not receiving any signal from the coolant temperature sensor. Hope that helps! Jim

One other thing, GMs don't like aftermarket coolant temperature sensors. Replace with a Delco sensor. Hope that helps! Jim
