97 Yukon won’t stay running

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1997 GMC Yukon that I recently
started driving and hauling metal with. It ran
out of transmission fluid today then wouldn’t
turn over after I got some and put it in there. I
had the battery hooked up to a jumper box
that’s fully charged and waited till the interior
lights were their normal brightness and tried
to start it. I was able to get it started but
almost as soon as I disconnected the jumper
box, it died again. I hooked it back up and
waited about an hour or so and tried again.
Same results except that it died while still
being hooked up. The alternator is about a
year old and the battery is less than 2 weeks
old. I don’t know what to do. Any ideas?

Check your connections between your alternator and battery. Seems like the alternator should still be good but if your connections are good, have it tested.
