Anyone have any advice on buying a 2015 320i

Asked by skipowww99 Oct 15, 2020 at 12:14 PM about the 2015 BMW 3 Series 320i Sedan RWD

Question type: General

Due to my old Hyundai being totaled, I am now found looking for a used car.
They seem affordable, but I am nervous about how much money it will cost
to actually own this particular model. I've heard everyone and their brother
say that BMW's are cars that breakdown often and are expensive to repair,
but the people with these opinions have never actually owned one. The one I
am looking at has 40k miles, 2 owners, no wrecks or damage, and has a
very good track record of routine maintenance. If you all would help me out
with some insight I would really appreciate it.

Also, if anyone has any particular things I should be looking for that would be
red flags when I go look at the car in person, please let me know.

If it is at a dealer that you should be ok there but if it is a private sale of the car and has low miles than it could be a red flag they are good cars and parts are expensive for these cars and if you are worried about owning one you can always just finance one for a monthly, weekly, or no weekly payment that will be cheaper than going out and buying it right there on the spot.

Used BMWs are usually a money pit. Very expensive to maintain and the parts prices are out of this world. Buy something you can afford.

You are correct to worry. A cold sweat might be appropriate. Have a BMW specialist check it out before buying.
