Since there is no dipstick in the engine compartment, you probably have to fill through a fill plug on the transmission itself.

on the 2.4 there is a fill tube to the left of the battery, you just have to remove the snorkle for the air box. The funny thing is the tube is set up like a dipstick but has a 90 degree bend in it wich would make it impossibleto run a dip stick through it.

Hy ; from France ! IF it's a Manual transmission 6 speed- Bg6 made by Aisin (Japan) , Who take 's ONLY , ATF 4 + fluid ! It's all on the driver side behind THE wheel that has to be removed ! Then take off the plastic UNDER motor cover ! On the LEFT side of the trans : The big black rubber visit hole boot is the fill plug , easy... above on the right down corner the 24mill drain plug bolt. Few atf 's are licensed by Mopar .C Transmax is one of them ! What come's out ,goes in ! About 2 litres ! Super easy ! PTU and RDA ARE with 80w90 Mineral Limited Slip oil, for the price IT is :Mopar oil OEM is heavier in additives ! NOT atf ! Also easy, but YOU will need a manual PUMP with a hose to reach the fill Holes ! About 1/2 + a liter each ...300$ saved ...lol , drôle ! Funny My RDA AND PTU where low of oil at 70 000 kms ! Now , she flies....!!!! Check especially the connection hose between the water PUMP ,and the radiateur, mine weak piece exploded with pressure ! A water pump at 30000 miles. After the warranty !!! In addition TO what i verified ! Install the vehicule level, flat ! Clean and Remove rubber black boot fill plug , Remove the drain bolt ( the one that have a little aluminium wall ' round at the down corner right! Allow fluid to drain until empty. Réinstall drain plug with new gasket. With 39 Nm torque . Add fluid ATF 4 + ( registred Brand with an R ) until the fluid trickles out .( of the rubber boot hole ). Reinstall rubber boot . The Manual of the bg6 d,ont speak about temp of the fluid , neither of a dipstick . I recommand you drive the vehicule , to let the oil enter WELL everywhere ! AND have a reckeck x2 of the fluid level once warmed up and went in the trans . Until IT trickles out ! That 's written .warning again on the fluid type . Have fun. Add fluid until the fluid trickles out of the rubber

Déduction mine is that ,a dealer just drips his finger after removing the rubber boot plug to do his top off, if needed ! That rubber plug has to be in good shape ( not cracked or old ).... this doesn't allow the Compass 2012 snorkeling also ,more than half wheel in a river crossing ! That plug is strange ! But practical, quick and easy ! Anyway ....

Search :Manual Trans Bg6 on Scribd site! It's for a Dodge 2009 ...same Transmission that Chrysler has put in the 2012 Jeep Compass same atf filling procédure without an AIR powered machine that may be goes deeper ??? Needed when dealers have to wash ans flush the entire unit like fire mens if a lot of bad stuff is in the old fluid .not FOR just a fluid simple change. The 2 nickels screws that can BE seen on the TOP of the box under the air box ARE to plug the machine air powered filler that some dealers don ' t have ! The dealer plastic plug Dealers ONLY is a way to dip a stick ! That will show the SAME accurate level of fluid than the Rubber Fill Handy side plug...until trickles out fluid level way ,on the side panel of the trans .ECHO, !EUREKA ! IM A GENIUS ! YOU CAN FILL THE FLUID FROZEN BY THE RUBBER PLUG ! .IT WILL be the same accurate level ...LOL

+ THE RUBBER PLUG level IS AT THE LEVEL OF THE AXLE OF THE TRANSMISSION ! HALF OF IT TAKES A BATH in the fluid ! NO way to be wrong !like in the PTU design and RDA Ptu A the
