Kia may cover it so check with a Kia dealer.

Believe it or not Kia's powertrain warranty is 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. So I would think you're covered by the original factory powertrain warranty on the vehicle. Of course the Dealer is not going to be forthcoming about that information. You asked about a recall and there's none. Call back and ask about the warranty. When they tell you it's not covered tell them you want to see the warranty information for your vehicle. Or better yet if you have the warranty booklet for the vehicle take it with you to the Dealer's service department after you've read it and know it's still under warranty! Hope that helps! Jim

I apologize GA, I have had the car just over 14 weeks. Js08016 I thought that Kia's warranty isn't transferrable, I am the second owner of the car and read the owners manual that said it's non transferrable. Have they changed something, or have I not been looking in the right place ? I appreciate all the help from you guys, and anything else I can learn from this forum. Thanks again.

You're welcome. Glad to help! If you Google 2015 Kia Optima warranty a pdf file of the warranty booklet will come up. It's a free download. That will tell you if the warranty is transferable. Hope that helps! Jim

Here's what I'm seeing at a quick glance. The powertrain warranty IS transferable to the second owner BUT it's reduced to 5 years or 60,000 miles from the original in service date. But double check that warranty booklet to be sure. Jim

Visit www.kiaenginesettlement.com There is a lawsuit against kia for the engine. I'm having almost sane exact issue, I have a 2016 Kia Optima SXL TURBO and it is in complete engine failure. We won the lawsuit and as of May 10th 2021 Kia has to give us a lifetime warranty on the engine so just call the dealership and make an appt to get it fixed but read up on the lawsuit first so you know exactly the next step for you
