Check your owners manual, towing instructions will be included there. However, I do not believe so.

Put it in neutral, the transfer case has a slip mechanism that should allow independant free spin between the two shafts

Only flat tow it if you like really expensive repair bills. Even if the manual says you can it is probably only for a short distance at a slow speed in an emergency.
