99 suburban value no title.

Greetings all. I have a 1999 GMC Suburban with a
5.7 liter vortec it runs great. It has 156345milea on
it. I drove it from Amarillo Texas all the way up to
Fargo North Dakota 3 times with no problems. I
bought it for 3500 and would like to sell it but I
have no title. I've had it for less than a year
everything on it works except for the air
conditioner. Has power windows power locks 3rd
row seating CD player. My ex-girlfriend now,  at the
time she was my current girlfriend, got a title loan
on it without asking and we broke up since then
and I can't get the title back without her being
there. It's under both our names and I just want to
get rid of it.  What is highest possible price I could
get out of it with no title?

Junk yards wont take the car without the title and you cant sell it without a title. So you may be stuck. The only thing you can possibly do is part the car out and sell the parts on ebay or Craigslist. Or if someone is working on the same car may need a number or parts may take it off your hands.

How did you get a license plate and registration if you have no title?

All you can do is part the car out. Even then, you'll still be stuck with the shell as you can't even junk that without a title. (You'd have to chop it up in order to sell it to a scrap metal recycler.) Technically, as the car has a lien on it, the lien-holder owns the title and they'll have to be paid off before anyone else can register the car. Only the current registrant can keep the car on the road and only then if they keep it current. Pay your debt to them then sell the car.
