rear brake light on Yukon XL

Asked by GuruTX6B9 Jun 24, 2018 at 09:25 AM about the 2015 GMC Yukon SLE 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The right rear brake light on my 2015 Yukon XL quit working.  The bulbs (LED)
still work when the lights are on but not when you hit the brakes.  Is this a fuse
issue?  If so, which fuse is it?

The issue is in the lens. If you check my earlier post you’ll see instructions on how to repair it

There is a manufacturing flaw in the brake light assembly that has broken. One of the threads on this site gives a suggested self-repair, but in my experience, it is a flawed repair, and will break again (I've repaired a few that were previously repaired in this manner). GMC will want about $850 each to replace them, and in spite of what they will tell you, it is not an "improved" taillight you are buying. Give me a call at 480 213 7730, we can discuss the better and more lasting repair that I offer. Thanks!
