Why won't gmc pay for taillight condition that they are aware of

Asked by GuruR7JY5 Feb 17, 2020 at 05:06 PM about the 2015 GMC Yukon SLE 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I received a letter in the mail from gmc making me aware of
a condition where brake lights intermittently do not
illuminate.  Letter was dated December 2019, but I didnt
receive letter until feb. My truck has 73,000 miles and they
say they only cover up to 72,000. How do they not have to
pay? If I would have received the later back in December, I
wouldn't be asking.

Check to see if this is a NHTSA recall. Carcomplaints.com will tell you. If it is the Dealer has to pay for the repairs no matter what! Safety recalls never ever expire!! If the Dealer refuses, report them! That will change their mind! Hope that helps! Jim

This should be a safety recall which would not have mileage limitations.
