Did you use the memory saver tool before disconnecting main power? If not then a couple of things can happen, the security system goes into full activation, so check the owners manual for deactivation procedure on your specific model. The other thing is it can scramble the BCM so the your accessories can be disabled or not functioning properly, this can be cured with a re-flash of the computer systems, some independent shops now have the ability to do this but if you can’t find one then your stuck with the dealership.
My guess is that when you changed the battery, you didn't use a memory saver. so when you reconnected the new battery, you either blew a fuse or damaged something in the engine controls; maybe a sensor or the ECU.
By not using a memory saver you now need to be towed to your local Chevrolet Dealer and have the computers reprogrammed (flashed). The computers must be kept powered up at all times, including during a battery replacement. That's what the memory saver does. Hope that helps! Jim
