engine question

Asked by christina May 22, 2016 at 03:13 PM about the 2014 Nissan Altima 2.5 S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2014 Nissan Altima shakes when I am at a stop.  The mechanics at the
dealership say its normal, but also raised my rpm's to help.  I think my car eats
up more gas now and it only masked the problem.  Do you have any
suggestions?

Ok this car has push button start, and it could be you have a short somewhere or loose cables that is causing that problem. I recently fixed same problem with 2015 Optima, so that is worth looking into. The dealer should not have increased your rpm to hide the issue. Since it is under warranty, go to another dealer, if there isn't one near by, call Nissan customer service and file a complaint. Believe me that dealer will call you back too.
