Rear license bracket nut replacement

Asked by T.C. Jul 21, 2020 at 06:14 PM about the 2014 Volkswagen Passat TDI SE with Sunroof

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The top license bracket nuts on my rear plate have been stripped. I purchased
new vw oem nuts and am wondering how to take the old ones out? They look
as though they simply press in to replace, but how do you take the old ones
out? Is it necessary to remove the trunk interior cover behind the plate in order
to remove? Thank you in advance.

1 Answer

I would have to see the nut. Some of these require a special installation tool.
