Expedition just started to shake

Asked by Van_2323 Mar 29, 2018 at 09:08 AM about the 2002 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My expedition started to shake really bad as I was coming
over an overpass and then some pipe fell off and I'm not
sure what it was. I pulled over and put the truck into park,
but it was still rolling so I out the emergency brake on, any
ideas???

Sounds like the driveshaft may have come out due to bad universal joints.

Did you pick up the pile that felled off? This can tell you exactly what the problem is. Although I am sure the above answer is correct, the "pipe" is the driveshaft.

No, someone came along and took it out the street and drove away when I was on the phone with roadside assistance, I kind of thought it was the driveshaft but wasnt 100% sure. thank you both so much for this.
