Transmission not working

2004 gmc envoy. I was driving on the freeway went to pass
a car as soon as I got into the other lane and punched it the
rpms shot sky high car didnt go anywhere no 1 2 3 4 r  
nothing. There was no sighn of issues. I have fluid to no
leaks. What's issue

It may have quit on you , remove the lower trans coolant line from the radiator put a hose on it start the car and see what kind of pressure you get , it'll be A LOT if the pump is working so catch the fluid and have some help . If it's weak drop pan and change filter and fluid , or take it to a shop and see what they say . That's probably where you're heading anyway
