2014 Toyota Corolla shuts off

My daughter has a Toyota Corolla that just shuts down while driving.  Shel pulls over and it restarts, but has almost been in a few accidents because of it.  My local mechanic replaced the crank shaft sensor but it still happens.  I took it to a Toyota dealer and they say they cannot repeat it so they cannot fix it.  Has this problem ever been solved?  What suggestions are there?

If your two mechanics have gone through this car, it would be quite costly. If you didn't pay much for their diagnoses, they probably didn't do much..... There can be a lot of things that can cause an engine to just quit while driving, and most will trip an OBD code or several. If there are no trouble codes, I'd suspect you have a broken ignition switch. When they go, they usually stop the flow of electricity and the engine quits. This usually happens when you're making a turn or you hit a little bump. As the engine restarts with no sign of a problem, that's what I'd suspect.
