Figure the cost (maybe 5 grand) and factor in how long you would have to drive it to make this worth your while. For me I would want at least another 3 years out of the car.

If it's the I6 engine, yes it's worth it, but not new. Buy a used engine with around 100k on it or so. These engines consistently get around 300k+ on them.
