back up camera

Asked by David Oct 15, 2018 at 06:19 PM about the 2014 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2014 Outback - the camera worked well for about 2 years then it
began to cut out {no image} blank screen. All other uses of the screen were
fine. The blank screen occurred more often over time and damp conditions.
Even humidity affected it. I have my car Ziebarted every year it seemed the
camera of what I could had rust on it. By the third year i asked the dealership
and the cost to replace was almost 400 dollars!!
Is this a common problem? Is subaru making better cameras?

Forget getting a Subaru replacement...get a Rydeen mirror with the HD camera.... screen is right inside your rearview mirror....works great and it's the natural place you would look for backing up anyway......
