2014 Outback

Recently purchased 2014 Certified Subaru
Outback,  56,000 miles. When traveling at 60
mph on highway needed to accelerate to
avoid oncoming traffic.  Car would not
respond, no power to accelerate, rpm jump
to 7000.  Car would not respond for 3-4
seconds, then power restored.  Placed me
and kids in dangerous situation.

Had previously taken it to dealer, because I
had shuttering when reversing, feels like
pulsing and limited power on highway.  The
dealership indicated I must not be used to
CVT transmission.  At the time, indicated it
must be due to battery and changed our
battery.  

Car is under extended warranty.  Will be
taking to different dealer.  Thoughts
concerning transmission?
