Will the trans from my 2000 p71 work with my 2008
? I need a transmission pump..

No, there were too many changes between those years - 2004 saw new planetary gear setup, and 2005 and up have a lot of changes made, and lack VSS which yours would need. You need a 4R70W between 1996 and 2003 to work for your 2000. Check out: http://www.idmsvcs.com/2vmod/tranny/modelnumbers/crownvic/

Forgot to mention, your 2000 PCM would not work with a 2008 trans either.
