If you have a check engine light that is reset how long before it comes back on? Also dDoes it affect the auto start?

scan was run and detected faulty purge valve.  Auto start didn't work while light was on.  Works fine now.  Not covered under warranty.(cost  $340)

Until the same or different problem is detected. If the auto start works after you replaced the faulty valve, it is an indication that it might have been affected by the problem.
