Asked by KKOZ6245 Jan 16, 2024 at 06:53 PM about the 2014 Ford Escape SE AWD

Question type: General

LATELY MY 2014 ESCAPE HAS HAD ALL WARNIING LIGHTS COME ON
WHILE DRIVING. AND SPEEDOMETER DOESN'T WORK, I TOOK IT TO A
MECHANIC BUT HE COULDN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THE LIGHTS
WERE NOT ON WHEN i TOOK IT IN.. IT HAS HAPPENED 4 OR 5 TIMES
IN THE PAST FEW  MONTHS. FIRST THE UPHILL ASSIST WARNING
LIGHT COMES ON, THEN THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON,
THEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON THEN
DRIVERS ASSIST STEERING COMES ON, THEN THE SPEEDOMETER
STOPS. WHEN I PULL OVER AND STOP, AND TURN ENGINE OFF AND
SIT FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND THEN START AGAIN
EVERYTHING IS BACK TO NORMAL. DO YOU NAVE ANY IDEAS AS TO
WHAT IS GOING ON? I HAD A NEW BATTERY INSTALLED A MONTH AGO
THINKING IT MAY BE AN OLD BATTERY PROBLEM BUT IT HAS
HAPPENED WITH THE NEW BATTERY

This Is one of those things that is going to take a while to find. You need a good independent shop that has a good scanner that can record live data and just leave it with them to drive until failure.

Find another mechanic , Honestly that car is past it's prime and are known for problems , There should have been some kind of codes , simple testing could show a relatively easy fix , either way I don't think it'll be cheap
