Car acts like it has a carburetor float getting stuck .
I come to a stop. Turn the ignition all the way off.
Start it back up and it will work fine until it
accelerates into second gear. Then does it again.
After about 3 times doing this the problem goes
away for about a day and a half.

So is it hesitating and stalling? I'm sure you know there's no carburetor on your vehicle. However there is a recall on 2013 to 2014 Escapes for stalling and hesitation. You can look up your vehicle by VIN on the NHTSA.gov website: www.nhtsa.gov/recalls#vin
It will begin to accelerate till about 10 mph then cut back with no power. Barely enough to keep itself running. During the event, pressing the accelerator (in neutral) Will help prevent the motor from immediately turning off but does not correct the issue. My layman's thought process says it might could be a fuel pump, something with the injectors ( clogged) , something with the ignition coil (issues sending spark), or a compression issue. I will check this afternoon about the recall. That would be nice to be the case.
The big recall for 2013 2014 Escapes had to do with the wire harness to the transmission that would cause hesitation. I wouldn't think a fuel pump would go bad on a 2014 model unless you have an obscene amount of miles on it (like 150K+). Are you seeing a "check engine" light?
I have been having same problem with my 2013 Ford Escape! I will start off and then it slowly loses power and stops! It does restart! But no check engine light or any other light comes on, just the oil and battery light when it stops! I have used fuel injector fluid in it, it ran fine for 2 weeks then did it again!
