1987 Dodge Dakota

I pulled up to a traffic light the truck died I
haven't been able to started since I have
replaced the voltage regulator I have
replaced the coil still no spark my fuel pump
is running I can hear it when I turn the key
onI have read in the dodge forum it could be
my crank sensor or my pick up in the
distributorbut I don't know where the crank
sensor is can you help me

Crank sensor is located behind the crank pulley. You need to scope it. You should see a square sign wave. First verify you have 5 volts going into the sensor and a good ground. The probe the signal wire running to the pcm. Verify there's not to much resistance on the wire. If that's good the hook up your scope and verify the sensor is opening and closing the circuit properly. Hence a square wave . This indicates that it's a switch on off. Understand? No? That's why we charge 90 dollars an hour and go to school for years bud.

Hey Patrick i know you answered 2 years ago but if your still around you might want to know that up to 91 didnt have a crankshaft positioning sensor.
